Dr. Thomas McMichael, our Chief of Staff, has been a licensed veterinarian for over 30 years at College Park Animal Hospital. He graduated from Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979, after completing a Bachelors of Science in Zoology and Masters in Physiology. Dr. McMichael has a special interest in surgery, internal medicine, endoscopy, ultrasound and dentistry.

Dr. McMichael is married and has three children. He enjoys golfing, fishing, sports, and bee keeping.

Dr. Kim Beck has been treating patients at College Park Animal Hospital since 2005. She joined the practice shortly after moving to the area from Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Beck obtained a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science from Northwestern University before attending the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She is also a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.

She enjoys the challenges of pathology, dermatology, and internal medicine. On weekends Dr. Beck spends her time hiking, sewing, and eating sushi. She lives in Silver Spring with her son, husband, Greg, and beloved dog, Olive.

Dr. Liz Berndt graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana in May of 2012. She joined the College Park Animal Hospital team in June of 2012. Her special interests include ultrasonography, internal medicine, and animal behavior.

Outside of work, Dr. Berndt enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, along with their cat, Izzy, and their pet room full of various lizards and frogs. She especially enjoys hiking with family and friends, and finding different creatures and plants on walks.

Dr. Meola joined College Park Animal Hospital in June of 2017. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland in 2009. You may recognize Dr. Meola as she discovered her passion for veterinary medicine while working with us at College Park Animal Hospital as a veterinary nurse prior to veterinary school.

Dr. Meola received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She enjoys all aspects of feline and canine medicine with special interest in internal medicine and preventative care. She is Fear Free Certified and does her best to make her patients feel comfortable and stress-free during visits
