Kim Beck, DVM, DABVP (Canine/Feline Practice) — Chief of Staff
Dr. Beck, our Chief of Staff, has worked at College Park Animal Hospital since 2005. She grew up in Chicago and attended Northwestern University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science. She always knew she wanted to work with animals in some capacity. After volunteering at an animal shelter, working as a zoo keeper and doing wildlife rehabilitation, she was accepted into veterinary school at the University of Illinois. She received her DVM degree in 2004, graduating near the top of her class.
Because she strives to be the best doctor she can possibly be, Dr. Beck pursued board certification to specialize as a veterinary practitioner. In 2012, she was certified as a diplomate by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP), specializing in Canine and Feline Practice. She was recently Fear Free Certified and has implemented techniques to make veterinary visits less stressful for her patients and their family members. She enjoys difficult dermatology cases, internal medicine and surgery. She especially enjoys working with rescue groups to help get dogs healthy and ready for adoption.
Elizabeth Berndt, DVM
Dr. Liz Berndt graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana in May of 2012. She joined the College Park Animal Hospital team in June of 2012. Her special interests include ultrasonography, internal medicine, and animal behavior.
Outside of work, Dr. Berndt enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, along with their cat, Izzy, and their pet room full of various lizards and frogs. She especially enjoys hiking with family and friends, and finding different creatures and plants on walks.
