dvm kim beck 200pxDr. Beck, our Chief of Staff, has worked at College Park Animal Hospital since 2005. She grew up in Chicago and attended Northwestern University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science. She always knew she wanted to work with animals in some capacity. After volunteering at an animal shelter, working as a zoo keeper and doing wildlife rehabilitation, she was accepted into veterinary school at the University of Illinois. She received her DVM degree in 2004, graduating near the top of her class.

Because she strives to be the best doctor she can possibly be, Dr. Beck pursued board certification to specialize as a veterinary practitioner. In 2012, she was certified as a diplomate by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP), specializing in Canine and Feline Practice. She was recently Fear Free Certified and has implemented techniques to make veterinary visits less stressful for her patients and their family members. She enjoys difficult dermatology cases, internal medicine and surgery. She especially enjoys working with rescue groups to help get dogs healthy and ready for adoption.

College Park Animal Hospital would like to welcome Dr. Nancy Ruth!

Dr. Ruth grew up in New Jersey. She attended the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated with honors.

Her love of veterinary medicine and animals is as strong as ever. She attends several veterinary conferences every year. Rescue work is important-she helps with transport, medical cases, fostering and old dog hospice. Her free time is spent cooking and caring for the garden and animals (dogs, cats, fish, chickens, goats, peacocks, mini horse, pigeons...) on her mini farm.
